The scientific activity of teachers and students is an integral part of the strategy of the Academy, carried out in accordance with the Strategic Plan of the Academy and fully complies with the mission of the Academy.
As tasks in the scientific field indicated:

The Academy pays great attention to the issue of international cooperation in the field of scientific research. Today, the Academy has official agreements on long-term bilateral cooperation with 52 universities and research organizations of the United States, Italy, Germany, Korea, China, India, etc.

Academy Kainar established extensive international relations. Partnerships have been established with the Center for Euro-Asian Studies at the University of Reading, the Royal Institute of International Relations (United Kingdom); Swedish Institute of International Affairs, Stockholm; Institute of Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Center for Russian Studies, Harvard University; The John Hopkins Institute, University of Kansas, USA; The Carnegie Moscow Foundation; The Institute of the Far East and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; Soros Foundation-Kazakhstan, the Fulbright Foundation, TACIS and others. The cooperation includes various forms: organization of lectures, round tables, seminars and publications of foreign scientists in journals published by the Academy, participation in international conferences organized abroad; exchange of scientific materials, obtaining research grants from various foundations.

To ensure recognition and confirm the relevance and novelty of the results of research in the departments of the Academy, the process of publishing scientific articles in international cited journals is activated. In foreign journals with a non-zero impact factor, 120 articles were published, mainly in journals included in the Scopus information base, which shows the increasing dynamics and growth of the publication activity of the Academy faculty.
More than 20 faculty members of the Kainar Academy are members of the National Academy of Sciences and KAZNAEN, branch academies of sciences and professional associations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The “Institute of Kazakh Civilization and History” and “Institute of Economic Research” are established and function in the Academy “Kainar”.
The Institute of Kazakh History and Civilization is the leading scientific organization in Kazakhstan to develop the complex problem of the origin and development of Kazakh civilization as a phenomenon of the world-historical process (director - academician KazNAEN, professor Omarov Erengyap Salipovich).

The Economic Research Institute (IEI) was established in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Education” and the Charter of the Kainar Academy, on the basis of the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 1057 dated November 8, 2000 and the order of the Kainar Academy. The director of the Institute is the honored worker of Kazakhstan, honorary academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, academician KazNAEN, doctor of economic sciences, professor Saparbayev Abdizhapar Dzhumanovich.
For the first time in Kazakhstan in 2014, the Kinesiology Center was opened at the Kainar Academy. The Center implements additional professional educational programs in the field of kinesiology and bodily psychology.
In the Academy "Kainar" operates a psychological center. The purpose of the Center is to develop and develop the skills and abilities necessary for carrying out practical psychology in various spheres of human activity.

The University has a Center for Mediation, whose task is to form and develop the skills and abilities necessary to conduct mediation, to assist the dispute participants in solving the problem and developing possible solutions to it.

The research work of the Kainar Academy is organized and conducted on the basis of a thematic plan, annually approved by the Academic Council. This work covers activities at the level of departments, research institutes and the Academy as a whole.
Areas of research in Kainar complex include the following aspects of the activity:

  1. Conducting research on basic research;
  2. Conducting research on applied research;
  3. Student research work;
  4. Publications and scientific publishing;
  5. Scientific conferences and seminars.

The research work in the departments of the university is implemented in all these areas on the basis of the annual research plan developed by the department annually and is consistent with the strategic development plans of the Academy.
